Thanks for the replies about WAC and WSA :thumb: it's just that it doesn't seem to be reporting correctly atm, and I'm guessing this may be because I had NOD32 alongside WSA until I uninstalled it today, so would I have to install WSA afresh for it to report correctly now?

First observation is...superb GUI, very functional and easy to use.

Second observation is...I agree with PIInfinity that it would be great if one could click on the tab again, closing it to become the single line tab again.

Third observation is...the "learn More" that litters the GUI smack of dumbing down. I am assuming that eventually it will be completely context sensitive to where it is actioned from but at present in some cases one seems to go 'marketing'. Also, I would suggest that the button is too big...would be better for a more discrete and traditional '?' symbol...after all, everyone knows what that means.

Off for a further nose around.

I have noticed that the scan settings options have changed with WSA 2014.

I don't understand why it now says, "Settings - Currently being managed by the Web Console"

    ScreenShot_WSA_New look_Scan Settings_01.gif

As far as I know, when using WSA on my computer, it has always been locally managed. I have no use for the web console.

Please go to your Webroot Console > PC Security > your PC name > About tab > Security Setting (Edit) at the bottom > Edit > User Configuration > green check mark.

Close your Webroot Console and do a scan with WSA. It'll not be managed by the WEB Console anymore.

I tested it for 6 months and even protects and blocks and removes malware. It is very very light but takes the power of the personal computer. After Norton, bitdefender is the best option in the market. Kaspersky sins for being too heavy on updates.

The funny thing is, I have never created an account.

I don't think he has created an account for the Web Console.
I think it might be a bug, I have also seen this with a bought license and a trial license that it says that settings are being managed by web console, even when you don't have created an account and linked the license to the console. I notice this already in v8.0.2.x, not sure when it started exactly.

Good to know you like it. WSA is fast, light and effective. Fast and effective support as well.:thumb: Could you emphasize more on what you mean by "takes the power of the personal computer"?o_O It takes the load off a pc and uses the power of the cloud.:D:thumb:

Maybe someone else has opened an account with your keycode and used his/her email address. You had purchased the keycode yourself using your own email address, right? Could you send a pm to PrevxHelp with your keycode so he can check if there is any Web Console account associated with your keycode?

There's always a possibility of a bug with the Console as BoerenkoolMetWorst has said. To take that into consideration we must first rule out the above possibility.

I have been a registered 'Closed Beta Tester' since inception in 2011. I have never used a bought license. As BoerenkoolMetWorst said, it is probably a bug.

Oh I see. It's a bug then. Joe will help you.

I got an interesting theory. If you're a closed beta tester, never registered in a Console and 'managed by Console' appears in WSA maybe the closed beta keycodes are managed by Webroot Team and someone in the team must have accidentally changed WSA in your pc to different setting than User Configuration. Because as long as it's kept User Configuration you never know if the keycode is registered and managed by the Webroot Team or not. What do you think?:D

One thing is you can't register that original Beta Keycode as you know if you do a clean reinstall it will stop working. And your picture above looks like a Prevx code?

Looks perfect to me. There are certain limitations introduced in Win 8 and thus in Win 8.1 for which WSA's firewall functions are restricted.

I really like the WSA in the past I got a generous license six months to understand its operation.
I notice that you are fan of this software.
I think "takes the power of the personal computer" because pc monitors and prepares safety in a complete way. Firewall has a personalized and effective detection of malware from the Internet. What I like most is that it makes the operation of the pc rather light.
How can I renew another 6 months PIINFINITY? :shifty:
    Thanks for listening

Yes the allow block column is missing. Again there are certain limitations in Win 8 and Win 8.1 that restricts those functions in WSA's fw. I'm sure if there is a workaround Joe and the Webroot team would surely have found it. Maybe they are still working. But 2014 version so close to being released I think even if they found a workaround it would be implemented in the future builds.
