    Okay, one more question.

What does the "write boot sector" option do for an OSS boot option?

In all the ones that OSS detected itself, it set this option to on.

But in an earlier modified bootwiz.oss that MudCrab gave me where entries for some OS's were added manually, he set this option off on the ones he added manually.

So should this option really be on or off? Does it really make a difference? This is purely XP and Vista I'm working with if that makes any difference.

    Thanks again!

When OSS creates a new OS menu entry, it creates a copy of the boot sector and saves it in the folder created for that OS (bootsect.sys). If this option is enabled, the boot sector is copied back to the partition prior to booting it.

When you add the entry manually, there will not be any boot sector file. I don't know if this causes OSS a problem, but I usually turn it off when no file is available instead of letting OSS use the default (enabled).
