Yes, I know what he means. Thanks for the link, it will be something of substance to provoke thoughts that might well be lost in the noise of the "web". Interesting, Meltdown! Cheers! Marja
Lots of good reading there. I found a great slogan on one page, just wish I could act on his advice... there's something addictive about the web, the endless promise of the new.
The computer not the book! LOL! Duh! you probably already knew that! Do find that I read a bunch of stuff I wouldn't otherwise, learning slowly to pick and choose what and where I spend my time, still got a loooong way to go. Marja
What bothers me is that I used to go on the web to look for information on things I was interested in, and now I just hop around from site to site looking for things that might interest me. I blame my new computer. For ages I had an ancient machine with a black and white monitor that made surfing the web a torment, it made me selective. A new computer, a colour monitor, everything looks so bright and shiny and alluring.
Agreed, that does make alot of difference! I complained about the time it took to do things, but, now I take just as much time, NOT doing anything! I am soo confused?? Maybe there is a 12 Step Program for us somewhere on the Web!! See, there I go again. Maybe I'll get a timer, yea, see how fast I can get things done - or will I just look up MORE STUFF
Hi meltdown thats a good slogan-books are wonderful, and i read about 3 or 4 a week yet, even though I used to read more before i became so interested in the computer.but i guess reading is still and will always be my first love Rita
