I tried to update a snapshot and an archive with the Primary as the source and after a few minutes got the message "The Copy Engine unexpectedly terminated."
Got the same message when I tried to make a "new" snapshot.

    Win 7
    FDISR v 3.21.205

The most recent (and last) version is 3.32.235, 2009-03-08, and requires a new key. It also requires the .205 or previous to be uninstalled (program only, not snapshots) before installing the new version.
There is a thread from Leapfrog (Existing customer migration) on how to ask for a new key which you might try, but it's been a long time.....
The Change log that might be pertinent to you is:
which applies to W7-64 bit as well. You didn't indicate whether you have W7 32 or 64 bit. If you have W7 64 bit then you need the newest version or you're out-of-luck.

There were more changes in 232, 233 & 234 that might apply.

If you have W7-32 bit: you might check the following in case some might apply
How long have you had FD installed on W7 or are you only just now trying to install it?

I installed FDISR 3.21.205 on this WIN7-32 PC in May of
2010 and it's been working fine. I followed the instructions in the 'sticky' at the top of this forum.

Sometime, maybe about a year ago, I came here asking if I could get an update from .205 and was told I was too late.

But still no problems until last week.

Today a did a 'refresh', that is, "Remove Program Only"
not "Remove All" and no joy.

I booted to a secondary snapshot and with a 2 week old 'archive' on another drive, attempted to copy to the Primary Snapshot and still got the "Copy Engine unexpectedly terminated."

I'm thinking uninstall and start from the beginning again with the instructions in the 'sticky.'

I also have many full images with Macrium Reflect.

That's too bad, I hope that restoring an image will fix things for you.

Try to contact Todd, he just might help, ...worst case is you can't reach him anymore.

I re-imaged to 2 weeks ago and FDISR worked correctly. I was able to copy from the primary to the secondary snapshot. I even created an additional snapshot.
I then decided to catch up on Windows updates, but one at a time.
The first one was a cumulative IE9 update. After that was installed I went to update the secondary snapshot and FDISR copy engine failed again.
I uninstalled the IE9 update but the copy engine still failed. It looks like FDISR is getting corrupted by Windows update and staying that way.
    What are your thoughts? Anybody?

I just remembered that I'd had a problem Aug. 19 when copying primary to secondary and checked my records.

It was the first time after the Aug. 15 Windows Update but I didn't have an IE9 component as you did.

I decided to retry the copy and it was successful.:thumb:

I'd suggest that you restore and install the other WU updates first, without IE9, then check FD, if OK, then install the IE9, just in case the sequence matters. If you get errors, try the copy again...

Beyond that I have no idea.

Did you simply accept the advice that you were too late or did you actually try to contact Todd?

One last thought, possibly the WU has resulted in finally creating too many long directory names which was fixed in FD 231 as I said above:

And in the discussion I suggested sending an e-mail... (not a link, sorry)

Try it just in case Todd can help.

    Well, folks, Todd came through.

I'm now enjoying 3.32.235 and it works well.

And I'm up to date with WU.

    Thanks for all the help.

Absolutely great news, especially if there are others out there with the old version.
