So it is confirmed, you can not commit files/folders to the real system, while virtualized?

    that's not so good.

The exit virtual state without reboot, even with a slight delay IS good.

Throw a right click to commit to "real" system function in,

Furnish a clear price structure explanation, (one off, yearly subscription,or Free for six months and than?),

    and I start getting excited.

AFAIK, WTF is free. Also when you exit virtual state without reboot, all changes will be commit to real system.

thanks, wow, that takes a little getting used to.
So if I want to save an exe,I know is good,I exit protected state,
keep it,and all the other dreck from the session?

I don't know how I feel about the implications there.

I guess Sandboxie, deleted before exiting protected state, should help.

    thanks

I've installed and been using Wondershare Time Freeze for the past 2 weeks on windows xp. So far it has installed and run fine on 4 different computers that I tested it on with no problems/BSOD's or program incompatibilitys, I also haven't notice any slowdown.

It is very similar to returnil in it's behaviour (instant virtual mode when needed) and only differs in the ability to go off virtual mode without rebooting. When you leave virtual mode (while in windows) there isn't an option to discard the changes that occur while on virtual mode, that requires a complete reboot (like returnil).

Occasionally I've used sandboxie but I prefer the software that virtualized the full c: drive. I have one computer that has FDISR installed and wondershare works fine with that software (returnil/FDISR together resulted in the computer not shutting down properly). With returnil/wondershare I find it's always better to use with a computer that has multiple harddrives/partitions where you can store any data you don't want to loose during the reboot.

If you terminate the virtual protection without rebooting, what happens to the "contents" of the virtual drive?

They are copied to your real system. So if you want to test out a program that doesn't require a reboot, you can play with it for awhile and if you like it, just exit the virtual state. If it's not for you, just reboot and it gone :D

Received registration code by e-mail when I downloaded the prog (don't remember the site), but it looks like you might be able to get one here: http://www.system-tools-software.com/time-freeze/

Strange - maybe Malware preventing you from protecting folders :p

Instead of using "copy/paste" to fill in my registration details, i manually entered them this morning instead and it registered :D

I noticed that Time Freeze is starting something in my start menu called BootSP.exe (BootNaMIr). Who knows what that's all about?
