After using Spyguard and Spyblaster for quite awhile, I just came across WMP Scripting fix, which was issued several years ago.

Considering the amount of fixes and plugs that Microsoft has issued for Windows Media Player 9, is this tool still viable?

If indeed the description is correct:

Wouldn't these embedded scripts run if the file is opened by Winamp or Media Player Classic (or a host of other players)?

In regard to MRU Blaster, I see that the program hasn't been updated since 2004. I still use it and it cleans out MRU's (which Ad-Aware always says are negligible for some reason).

I know that Clean Cache from Butt Ugly Software does an excellent job, too (and is a good companion to Crap Cleaner). For some reason SiteAdvisor places red X next to the link, yet they say the downloads are clean. It's only because the site links to another site they don't think is clean. Gizmo in his Tech Support Alerts calls it the best free browser scrubber out there.
