    Hi,

I'm looking for a free program that can wipe / securely erase the disk in my NAS, because I'm selling this NAS.

Anyone know software that can do this?

    Thanks in advance!

I'm not up on what can be done to NAS drives from another computer, as I don't use NAS. The safest way would be to pull the drives out of the NAS, connect them to a workstation (through IDE/SATA) and use the Trial of BCWipe Total Wipeout (but they are good company, so buy it if you can). This will get the disk, and the DCO and HPA.

*Warning* - I am unsure if you can re-use a drive that has DCO/HPA wiped - some members have said yes, but maybe test on a sacrificial disk first, or contact Jetico directly. I have found their support to be top notch. They are in Finland, so allow a day or two for a reply.

Or you could use the free Dban if you aren't worried about DCO/HPA.
