WinXP Firewall Cannot Be Enabled

    It all started when my PC was infected with some high risks spywares like VX2 etc

    And i ran a scan with my Adware programs.

    After that, there was a bubble coming out saying that my Firewall is not enabled.

    No Matter how i try, it just wont get started.

    Win XP Professional SP2 user here.

    Ive found the fix. already.

    :) Btw, Any Ideas where can i post a copy of my HiJackThis Log? I need urgent assistance :(

    The other forums were too crowded

    Check that you havn't disabled a service that the Windows XP firewall requires. I have experienced the same problem as you before, the problem was that (I'm pretty sure) I disabled "Windows Management Instrumentation".

    After surfing with the Windows XP not enabled (even I thought it was) I got several trojans within 5 mins.

    for me, i used the winsockfix. to solve the firewall problem.

    your log is clean (except for a few unneeded startup items).

    apparently you solved it on your own, congratz Stranger!
