My desktop Win7 DAW has a Gigabyte H97-D3H motherboard. My browser is Firefox. I was doing Windows Update and it offered me ""Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB314819:cool: Download size: 52.0 MB.""" I thought: I wonder if un-updated IE is a security risk even if never used? Well, that is actually my first question. Then, to my surprise, I can't find IE on the computer at all! Huh? I thought that IE was included as part of Windows 7 whether it was used or not, an integral part of the OS as it were, eh? That's the second question. The third one is: would Update offer a security update for a programme which is not on the system? It seems odd.
    Thanks for any enlightenment.

    Your second question --
If you look in Control Panel..Programs and Features, and look at the left hand side where it says ''Turn Windows Features on or off'', is Internet Explorer not listed there?
