A pre-release version of WinPrivacy 2015.8.636 is available. This version contains an updated network driver that should eliminate the false positives on our software. We've worked in conjunction with a few antivirus detection teams to improve our driver and make it more secure. We are very grateful for the advice we were given and want to thank those who helped us out.
In addition to the updated driver, the pre-release also includes configurable alerts and a few minor bug fixes.

You can download the update from https://www.winpatrol.com/downloads/winprivacy-setup-t.exe.
We have performed extensive testing using Windows 7 through Windows 10. Our testing facilities for Windows XP and Vista is limited.
Worst case scenario we have seen on XP and Vista is WinPrivacy simply will not block any programs. No Blue Screens.

    Thanks,
    Bret.

I heard from developer Bret in regards to this. Him and Bill P are trying to get in contact with Google. This is an error.

Chrome "Settings" "Advanced Settings" "Privacy" uncheck the "enable phishing and malware protection" feature I can get to WP sites. I don't have Firefox so can't help with that. The site is safe per the developers.

Per info received from Bret software developer the problem with getting to WP website has been resolved. If using Chrome remember to recheck the box in Chrome Advanced settings phishing and malware protection.

    What’s new in 2015.8.649 (posted August 28th)
•Fixed a few bugs associated with prompts not displaying properly.
•Corrected issue that could result in slower than normal data transfer of large amounts of data using FTP.

NB: WinPatrol site is once again not accessible from Chrome unless you disable Chrome's phishing and malware setting. There is a SiteLock - Malware Free showing for this site.

Is the LanzDown Forum for WinPrivacy now dead? Or is it only for beta testers now?

If so, where is the new forum?

Hi, the Landzdown forum for WinPrivacy is not dead. I'll speak with them about getting the title changed and having "Beta" removed. It is definitely slow, maybe the title has something to do with that.

We have been able to determine why Google is having false positives and will be changing out the installer creation software we are using in the very near future.

Today we announced the start of a pre-beta sale for our powerful Anti-Ransomware product. With myself and one of my developers coming from the Antivirus industry, we are using some of the same techniques used by the major Antivirus products to combat Ransomware. During the pre-beta sale, you can purchase a lifetime license for just $14.95. But don't wait, the sale ends October 15, 2015 and the availability of lifetime license will end with it.
It's time to wage WAR on Ransomware with WinAntiRansom!

You can access our "private" sale page here.

Hi NSG001, Please hold the bat.
There are a quite a few features we'd like to add to WinPrivacy, including a WHOIS lookup. However, the false positives on WinPrivacy has taken an inordinate amount of resources, but we've turned the corner on our driver and know what to do to fix the installer. Soon, we can put more attention on adding/enhancing features.

    Thanks,
    Bret.

I want to point out that, outbound connection attempt by an application is intercepted only the first time, and not afterwards even after the file is updated. This is not right, as a maliciously modified file can easily connect to internet.

I agree 100%. I really like WinPrivacy as it's like a outbound firewall and it would be nice to get a prompt when a program updates.

    Thanks,

    Daniel ;)
