WinPatrol is so light it's replacing hydrogen on the period table.

Not that good against advanced malware (especially free one), but very useful tool nonetheless. Takes care of unwanted programs in important locations.

Agree it's a great tool. If a user checks the recent programs list, sees a possible problem file, has the option to delete it on reboot = no more malware. Same with running processes, and autoruns. Delete on reboot, gone.

Excellent tool which will throw up alerts when autoruns/services are trying to be installed. Plus edition which allows users to check the description of files is worth the price.

I always recommend winpatrol to friends and colleagues ,as its its reliable and offers so much.My one caveat with it ,is that its currently limited in its alerting of task scheduler run items using task scheduler 2.0.I emailed the developer ,who is aware of this shortcoming ,and hopes to fix this in future builds. The developer always replies promptly to emails and offers full support.Personally i cannot fault the software or the guy,and look forward to a newer build that fixes the task scheduler 2 problem.
