After restoring my Vista partition I noticed that the Windows Update was disabled and the whole update history list cleaned out. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

That's strange. I never experienced that after restoring a Paragon Image.

It leads me to suspect the cause is elsewhere.

Could this problem be related to the default setting "Skip OS auxiliary files"?

I don't believe so. I always skip o/s auxilliary files with my backups.

Is it possible the image was created at a point at which updates were disabled? Or perhaps hadn't been installed yet (and are hence missing)?

Was this from a recent backup?

No, the selective update was and is always enabled. By the way, there is no problem with installed updates. They are still listed in control panel. But the update history list in Windows Update window was empty and the auto-update completely disabled.I've enabled it again.
Now there are only a few updates on this list I've selected and installed yesterday.

Yes, it was taken one day before. Before updating the graphic card drivers.

P.S:To prevent any misunderstanding, I mean the list of installed updates, not the list of updates which should be installed.

Same problem with my second attempt:
All restore points and Windows Update History are deleted by restore operation. Windows Update is disabled as well.

This seems to be a know problem among users (although the disable part might be unique to you), but Paragon has not addressed it yet.
