Windows Software Alternatives for Linux? thread

What software in linux that can help me create awesome image slideshows and make it into movie which is playable in CD/DVD player?
(ie. something like Microsoft Photo Story 3 / Windows Movie Maker)

 

Openshot. Use ppa. For me better than kdenlive and very easy to use. http://www.openshot.org/ppa/
