Windows Installer Clean Up

    Hi Guys,

    I have 'Windows Installer Clean Up' on this machine, I remember along time ago a M$ tech. had me download it.

    What does this do?

    Also I see some older versions of software when running this tool, should I delete the older ver.?

    Example: SnagIt 8.0 shows up as well as SnagIt 8.01

    If your computer is running alright with no apparent problems, I would not use this utility to remove anything. :D

    Does the add/remove programs in the control panel list two versions of the same program? That would be the place to start.

    Rico, it will clean up installer problems in the registry. My office 2003 setup got messed up a while back, so I ran the installer clean up. It removes all the programs registry entries. Bear in mind you will have to essentially reinstall what you clean up so if CD's are involved you will need them.
