Windows 8.1 Recovery Drive creation question

    From what I can tell, the only option is creating the Recovery Drive to a USB flash drive.

    Has anyone found a way to burn it to a CD?

    Even though flash drives are cheap, they aren't as cheap as a CD.

    Not possible, AFAIK. If you don´t include the "recovery partition", a 2 GB USB is enough.

    I have heard the reasoning is the MS feels that many devices people are using don't have optical drives. Still can't see why it would have been too much of a problem to retain the option to make a disk. Fortunately I had a one gig drive laying around that worked for that.
