    Your first link doesn't work.

Well if M$ wanted simplicity in a name, why didn't they make it reflect the numbers of versions there has been for Windows, including DOS? Hmm that would of been a smarter simpler number, what the heck is 7 suppose to represent anyways?

Is 7 supposed to be a continuation of Vista, or something different? I'm still not clear on that, having heard all kinds of rumors and things both ways...

From what I can tell it will be a modified Vista/2008 kernel. Vista SP1 is version 6.0.6001 and Seven is 6.1.xxxx (depending on the build at this time).

    Not "new" enough.
Who names these OSes anyway? "Windows", "XP", "Vista", "Leopard", "Ubuntu".
The nomenclature system is just awful in general IMO...

    Hello,
I'd name them after: cars, women, deities, vikings. Imaging upgrading Linux Ingyar to Linux Loki. Or Windows Hamar Bloodbeard to Windows Alfgeir Ironaxe. Or Mac Pamela to Mac Jasmine. That would be sweet.
