    Hi,

i use FisrtDefense-ISR for a long time and it is currently installed on my Windows 7 x86 desktop and working perfectly.

I did try to install it on my new Asus notebook G73J-TZ002 which owns Windows 7 x64 pre-installed *following the same procedure* : install the x64 version of the bootsec file, reboot, install Firstdefense.

All went fine but when i try to make a snapshot the process stalls and ends up by a "The Copy Engine unexpectedly terminated" error.

Searched forum for solution in vain.

    If one can help.

    thanks

Have seen it only once. But running an update a second time fixed it.
Do you still have this problem?

I have got the same error message on Vista x64 recently during indexing.
I am wondering whether a Windows update could have caused this.

    The error log:

Well,in my case it was a partition problem.

I followed the step by step guide to remove the first 100 MB
partition on my primary HDD (kudos pandlouk) - search for the stickie about Windows 7 install - but i messed up so it was recreated each time i reinstalled Windows. Some tricks from the laptop mbr i suppose.

Using a partitioning tool and reinstalling from scratch solved my problem. Seems FD can't play properly if C:\ drive not the first partition on disk....

    Thanks for your reply tapotio.

I have been hit with the same problem as this guy here:

    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=243672 in particular Post #5.

And I tried to help him. That's tragedy. :argh:

At least I have found out that there is some kind of stack overflow involved according to the exception code 0xc00000fd thrown by the isrcopy.exe engine.
I tried to be indexing more than 40000 entries when the error message came up. Perhaps these were too many entries, so FD-ISR gave up. To make matters worse I can't fall back to RSS. After rebooting VSS is taking over again.

I would appreciate if Todd could look into this.

    Eventlog in German:
    ----------------------
    Fehlerhafte Anwendung ISRCopy.exe, Version 3.32.0.235, Zeitstempel 0x49b30a09, fehlerhaftes Modul ntdll.dll, Version 6.0.6002.18005, Zeitstempel 0x49e03824, Ausnahmecode 0xc00000fd, Fehleroffset 0x0004e252, Prozess-ID 0x978, Anwendungsstartzeit 01cb68ba8be4d109.
