My display on Windows 7 shuts down after a minute or so on non-use (I timed it from one minute to one minute 14 seconds).

I don't see how this can be a hardware issue as I have Windows XP on another partition and there are no problems with XP.

Power option is to turn display off after 15 minutes, and other things somewhat more.

    Thanks.

What is your power plan on Win7?

Double check you have chosen the correct power plan and settings.

Make sure the slider to turn off the display is set to "never." Then it won't blank out every several minutes.

There's no reason (for the average user) to put it on never, 10-15 minutes is fair and economical (for your wallet and the environment).

Remember full screen applications such as games or movies prevent the screen turning off so you're safe to keep it at such a value.

Another forum provided the answer: the screensaver was set to blank (and it had a one minute interval).

    Thanks for your thoughts.
