This PC has only one user account. AaLF (administrator) but I have not enough priveledges

    Which way to go?

    • elevate my account so it has the same rights as a built-in "elevated" Administrator account.
    • or enable the built-in "elevated" Administrator account, and log in & out of that account when needed.
Needless to say I'm careless AND lazy. So I'd like retain my dictatorial powers 24/7. But it was frowned on in ye ol' XP due to exploits & hackers etc I recall. Which way in Win7 choice A or B?

Try Admin Approval Mode. All it disables are the prompts (automatic yes). It is not the same as disabling UAC, unlike some wannabe techies think.

Every other part of UAC like file/registry virtualization, no "shield" processes running in lower user rights, and IE Protected Mode works without issue. I'm not sure if this is how the built-in Administrator account works, or if it bypasses UAC altogether.
