I have just taken ownership of a dedicated Windows 2000 server which I'd like to use for hosting some websites. I've installed Netshield Anti-Virus and Server Alive Monitoring, but can anyone recommend some firewall software? Someone said that I could just as well use a piece of personal firewall software such as Zone Alarm Pro - would this be sufficient for a server hosting websites?

Now I know that many of you are going to suggest I use a firewall hardware solution, but as I do not have direct access to the server (it's housed miles away with an ISP) a firewall software solution is the only option I've got......just not sure what software would be besto_O

    Hi Mark Austin,

have a look at the software firewall Look'n'Stop. It uses very low ressources and is very safe and stable.

    Best regards,

    Patrice
