That's a great video, thanks! :thumb:

With no offence to our Mediterranean friends, they could of been speaking Greek for most of it to me but I get that it is actually a good thing and in the end helps keep my older machine running Win10 and keeps it snappy, snappier than it was with Win7. I still don't really understand why it takes an hour or so to complete but if it doesn't bother me when I'm using my machine I guess I can't complain. :)

    Cheers!

I meant "System and Compressed Memory process" can not be disabled. It is a pesky process.
I thought, I have disabled it, but only because Process hacker shows it as "System (ntoskrnl.exe)".

About Microsoft being able to get files from our computers: Would that still happen if I use "DestroyWindows10Spying"? It's a very powerful program that deletes all apps from the Store, disable numerous registry keys, delete numerous services, and etc.

    mantra,

I've forgotten. Did you run the entire version 1511 ISO again (on your current system) to see if it fixes the problem?

The only thing that is going to fix the regedit problem is a clean install. The problem is caused by upgrading and that they are backing up hardware setting into keys that are too long to open. Very unprofessional for them to let this go on for the last 6 months. You can't even delete the keys, at least not with regedit.

Mine seems to be working ok. That is not a problem I have personally seen.

The last time I installed Win10 I was asked whether to allow my machine to be seen by others on the network and I chose no. I've been trying to find how to change that but it seems I'm daft or the setting has been moved or removed. I tried another router here the other day and was surprised I wasn't asked about this network either.

This is what I see in Network and Sharing Centre. Note that where it says Public, it isn't a blue link to change settings like I would expect.

Ah ha! With UAC set to the max that option does not show. I just set it to default and the setting is back. Very odd!

Do you have a HDD or SSD? It might be quicker on my machine with a SSD, perhaps.

For some strange reason this bug is back in the same machine. I can run CHKDSK if I initiate it in Tweaking.com Windows Repairs but not if I use Command Prompt.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks.
