Here is a list of solutions you might want to try ...

    http://windowsreport.com/microsoft-edge-slow-windows-10/

I found resetting the hosts file temporarily alleviated the problem. It is intermittent so it is hard to nail down.

Windows cumulative update KB3124200 causes problems with WORD - if you customize macros for your specific needs.

MS is aware of the problem and is investigating.

Microsoft engineer Rob_L confirms that the cumulative update renames the configuration file called Normal.dotm to Nortmal.dotm.old, so Word loads the default settings after that.

“This means that all of the content in that original Normal.dotm (macros, autotext entries, styles, etc.) will no longer be loaded by Word, and when Word shuts down, a new ‘clean’ Normal.dotm will be created,” the engineer further details.

Though it seems to have fixed an outstanding WiFi problem. Without a change log it is difficult to determine if that is what this fix was intended to address.

Here is a fix to the Word issue ...

    Just a heads-up on an Windows 10 KB Update .. KB3132372

There are issues trying to launch Incredimail. Application crashes on launching. This isn't specific to just Incredimail.

Microsoft is aware of issues with this security update. Because this is adobe flash player update, Microsoft is researching the problem with Adobe. In the meantime a temporary workaround is to uninstall the KB update and have it blocked using the Windows Show Hide utility.

I'm using Windows 10 Weather Store App v4.7.118.0. I've not experienced any problems personally.

    1. Open File Explorer, and paste the following into the search bar:
      • %systemroot% \system32\drivers\etc
    2. Now, right-click on hots file, choose Open with, and choose Notepad
    3. Replace the text from the file with the following text:
      • # Copyright (c) 1993-2009 Microsoft Corp.
        #
        # This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
        #
        # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
        # entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
        # be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
        # The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
        # space.
        #
        # Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
        # lines or following the machine name denoted by a ‘#’ symbol.
        #
        # For example:
        #
        # 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
        # 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
        # localhost name resolution is handle within DNS itself.
        # 127.0.0.1 localhost
        # ::1 localhost
    4. Close Notepad, and save the changes

No, there's no need. You only need to do that if Device Manager shows missing or not working devices.

@mantra I'm not sure what that error means, or if it is an issue.

@Krusty13 It's excellent, I'm running the file permissions fix right now on a laptop where access to C:\ is denied.

No, one issue I had was with a certain USB flash drive. When I plugged it in it didn't show up in Devices and Printers and if I clicked the Systray icon to Eject the flash drive there was no Eject button. That's fixed now.

It also fixed some Reparse Points on both of my machines.

Here's what their site says it can fix:

Tweaking.com - Windows Repair is an all-in-one repair tool to help fix a large majority of known Windows problems including:

    - Unhide Non System Files
    - Repair problems with .lnk (Shortcuts)
    - File Association
    - WMI
    - Windows Firewall
    - Internet Explorer
    - Windows Installer (MSI)
    - Hosts File
    - Policies Set By Infections
    - Icons
    - Winsock & DNS Cache
    - Proxy Settings
    - Windows Updates
    - CD/DVD Missing/Not Working
    - Reset Registry and File Permissions
    - Register System Files
    - Remove Temp Files
    - and more...

It's easy to use and safe if you use the default settings, just read the instructions carefully before you do anything. Here's an excellent instructional guide with images:

    http://qmalwareremoval.freeforums.net/post/31365

I did have to reselect my default email program and default browser after running the tool.

Yes, both repairs work well. Every now and then, I encounter a computer which has problems with registry permissions, preventing some programs from writing to the registry. This can cause big problems, for example, years ago, on one of my computers, I was unable to install any software that required Windows Installer to install. After a few weeks and many hours of searching the web and doing my own troubleshooting, I found the issue was caused by registry permissions preventing data being written to the registry. It's a complete mystery to me, why this happens, but running the Reset Registry Permissions fix will solve the problem. Before Windows Repair existed, I used to run a batch file to fix registry permissions.

The Reset File Permissions repair also comes in handy from time to time.

    Hey Roger,
I've just noticed that this tool has been starting with Windows ever since I installed and used it. The toolbox icon was in the systray for some reason, and on both of my machines. Why?? :doubt: Why does it need to start and run when Windows starts? There was no start-up process to disable that I could see.

    Have you seen this?

Perhaps I should have used the portable version.
