    Roger,

This might work. Do another 1155 upgrade using the same ISO you used to upgrade to 1155 a few days ago. I just did this on my test computer and it took 18 minutes. The 1155 defaults are present again.

    Bug City, Baby.... :)

I think this new build is the buggiest thing I've seen ever come out of MS.... Unbelievable.

@Brian K I did another upgrade from ISO. It took about 45 minutes to complete the upgrade, and boot Windows again. Once again, the Start Menu was not working, and also the Windows D shortcut to show the desktop was not working (it was doing this prior to second upgrade). I get both working again by installing StartIsBack++ again. It seems to be an issue being caused by StartIsBack++ not restoring the settings it modifies when I uninstall it. I will post in thier form and see if they can help me.

On the positive side. This time, the 2015 AMD display driver Windows installed is working, and I did not have to revert to the old driver.

@Kerodo While I'm generally happy with Windows 10, I agree it still need some work.

Edit: I have a different driver issue this time. The audio driver got replaced by a more recent generic Microsoft one. The result was no audio. I've restored the old driver from a backup, and after rebooting, I had working audio again.

Here, the update completely trashed my HD.
    I don't think W10 works well with GRUB2...
I had to reformat the whole HD but now I'm with Linux exclusively.
    No more MS stuff here...

If you install Win10 and Linux independently, with grub2 in the Linux partition rather than in the MBR, no problems at all. Use a good boot manager such as BIBM.

I just checked in Security and Maintenance my Reliability History and every day I'm getting around 200 Informational events.

    Some applications that reconfigured are:

    Microsoft Application Error Reporting.
    Windows Live SOXE Definitions.
    Windows Live SOXE.
    Catalyst Control Center Localization All.
    HP Support Solutions Framework.
    CCC Help Portuguese.
    CCC Help Swedish.
    Windows Live MIME Filter.
    Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer.
    CCC Help Czeh.
    CCC Help Finnish.
    + Many, many more.

... Etc, etc, etc. Then they all repeat over and over. It seem like they are reconfigured every time I start or restart my machine.

I don't see the same on my other machine.

    What's up with that?

Another restart and another 66 Application Successfully Reconfigured informational events logged. Any ideas?

I have fixed my Start Menu issues. I emailed support for StartIsBack, and got a response listing a registry key that needed to be deleted. After deleting the key and rebooting, I have a working Start Menu, and the Windows D/X shortcuts are working too.

I just installed Ubuntu 15.10 to my SSD. I now have two Ubuntu, three Win10, two Win8, Win7, WinXP and a few DOS partitions on that SSD. BIBM is the boot manager.

Wow, I was wondering about the ISO's. Maybe they're getting ready for a new build? Otherwise, if they're forcing people to do the upgrade process via Win Updates, then count me out forever. That will never fly. Upgrades are notoriously problematic, and mine certainly was when I did it. I'm amazed at MS....

"Recently, Microsoft released Windows 10 November Update to the public. Now, it seems like the company could be pulling the update from the public. The software giant quietly pulled the Media Creation Tool for the November Update, and the Media Creation Tool now downloads Windows 10 Build 10240 (instead of Build 10586).

Interestingly enough, it looks like the update isn’t available via Windows Update anymore either. I tried to get the November Update from my Windows 10 laptop which is running Build 10240 (since July 29th) and it isn’t getting the November Update, which is surprising."

MS are sure making a meal of this. Every time I consider making the leap to Win 10, I become less sure.
It must be even more of a nightmare for 3rd party software devs.

Yep! MS are their own worst enemy too because so much is done behind closed doors leaving everyone to speculate what is going on.

It looks like when accepting free W10 upgrade, users also accept to be beta testers. It won't be long before W10 will get reputation to be buggy and people will start to wait for W11 to come out.

So how does this turnabout affect a clean install? I guess we have to create our own ISOs from now on. A sudden change in policy w/o adequately addressing all the obvious questions - MS is definitely PR challenged.

Best if you forget about making the leap to 10. Everything MS is doing is wrong. All their new processes are wrong. Now they're basically forcing upgrades twice a year on everyone. That will never fly, there are many people for whom upgrades just don't work. This is a nightmare and train wreck in the making... And 10 is so buggy now that I can't even use it if I wanted to. That's another flaw in their agenda. You can never fix a moving target, which is what 10 is now, constant changes. The bugs will always be there under this scenario.

I have concluded (after using 10 now for almost 6 months, previews and releases) that I just can't use 10 anymore, and that I will never go near it again. I also will never buy a new machine with Windows on it from this point forward. MS is either totally clueless and incompetent, or insane, take your pick. It just doesn't work.

I wish they would scrap the Media Creation Tool and just provide links to ISOs. One thing that bugs me about the MCT is that it creates a completely new ISO that I can't hash check against a known good one.

Well with some vendors you can still get win 7. Then you just have stop upgrading. I test a win 10 image, but so far, I see nothing I need, and a lot I don't want.
