Yeah checking the hash is more secure. Only slow ring builds will be released as ISO's. To get the new build 10122 you would need to have build 10074 or earlier installed & then change from slow ring to fast ring in settings-update-advanced update settings. When & if build 10074 moves to slow ring then a ISO will be released.

Build 10130, also failed to install, so I'm still stuck with build 10049 until either I can repair by trashed Windows 7 install, or the day comes that Microsoft releases a build of Windows 10 that I am able to complete upgrading to.

Is Control Panel being phased out or will it coexist with Settings?

I'm not sure if this is related to your issue, but maybe this might be useful: http://winaero.com/blog/fix-windows-10-upgrade-error-0x80246017/
Also, if I remember correctly there were upgrade issues related to 10049.

@WildByDesign Thanks, I'm doing the cleanup now, before trying to upgrade again.

Unfortunately the cleanup suggested in the winaero blog doesn't help in my case. My attempt to update to 10130 is failing with error code 0xc0000014 - the same error I got with 10122. I may have to toss the VM and start over with a new ISO.

This is also mentioned in malwaretips forum.

I too have Win 7 64 but nothing yet.

    Users on malwaretips mentioned
    "No it's not released yet....
This is just preparing you for the upgrade.
If you see and proceed as per your screenshot - It will eventually say that your upgrade has been reserved. Doesn't mean it will do it now itself. It will only do it as and when available.
Moreover, you can opt out of this 'reserved upgrade' even after you have opted in.
Doesn't matter if you opt in or out, the tray icon remains.
Only way to remove it is by uninstalling KB3035583 from Windows Update."
"This thing also tells you if there is any problems with anything on your computer for the upgrade."

Another problem I have with Windows 10 is that the Windows Update service keeps getting enabled. I reguarly disable it, as I am unable to run modern apps, and therefore can't actually use Windows Update. However it reguarly gets enabled again. I open services.msc and it is set to run manually, instead of being set to disabled. I just opened services.msc, and the Windows Update service was still disabled, but despite being disabled it was running.

This icon just appeared in my tray.
I was prompted to reserve my FREE upgrade to Windows 10.
It mentioned stuff about bringing the Start Menu back and asked me to provide an email address to reserve my copy.

I reserved the upgrade. Used Check my laptop and I have got that Win 10 will function on my machine but AMD Radeon HD 8750M isn't fully compatible with Win 10. Funny thing, will work but not fully compatible :D However it shouldn't be a problem as AMD Radeon is the secondary graphics on my machine which is used/engaged only when Intel cannot handle graphic requirements, what btw never happened yet.

Thank you @yesnoo I removed the said KB and "Get Windows 10" disappeared.:thumb: Win 7 is working without flaw with all my hardware (scanner/printer....). I still use the old DeskJet 932C Printer (I know it's old) but it still working as new. I don't need Win 10 to tell me it's not compatible anymore since I'm printing every day now due to an incident that happened over the Holiday weekend.
