Actually, I have the same problem with certain services on Win 8 as well.

Seems like it. I don't mind as long as it hasn't got the "Metro" look and feel, like on Win 8.

    Rasheed187,

Looks like you will have to install it to answer Pete's question in the affirmative.

No, haven't tried it yet, but from what I've read and seen, it isn't exactly groundbreaking when compared to Win 8. I will upgrade for sure, but it seems that it hasn't been improved in areas that I care about.

This release has a lot of changes from the last one, but it needs to be polished a lot more before it will be ready for any serious use. I find it to be slow and unresponsive, at least in VMWare, compared to the last release. The updated start menu in particular needs work.

You have to log into Win10 with a Microsoft account if you want to use Cortana. I'm getting used to it. Your Microsoft account doesn't have to be a Microsoft email address. I'm using Yandex.

If you use the Metro Skype your Microsoft account gets tied to your Skype account. I didn't like that and undid it.

    But I like Win10.

I would appreciate some help installing W10. As I'm posting this I'm less than 10 minutes from completing the download of the ISO. My system is a x64 W7 Sp1 PC.
What I would like to do is install W10 on an empty 60gb SSD I have mounted in my tower. I would prefer to add that drive to the boot menu, but if that isn't possible, it's easy to change my motherboard's boot priority whenever I'd want to play with W10.
Some of my questions: a) Should/would I have been able to just "Send to" the installation to that drive instead of going through the ISO route? b) If I burn the ISO or, using the Windows 7 USB/DVD tool put on on a flash drive, how can I get it on the SSD? c) Since an SSD is similar to flash media, could I just select that drive as the destination in the Windows tool GUI? d) Do I have to make the SSD a virtual drive? E) None of the above will work! Bye the way, the SSD (E:) is formatted Primary so it should be able to boot, correct?
    Thank you for reading this!

Whichever method you choose, don't start before disconnecting all drives except the 60 GB SSD otherwise Win10 booting files will be installed in Win7.

OK. Delete the partition on the SSD as you want unallocated space. Disconnect all drives except the SSD.

Set your BIOS to boot UEFI/Secure Boot. Boot the UFD or DVD in UEFI mode, choose Custom Install. Windows will create the 4 partitions for you. It really is easy.

You can use a UFD or DVD for the install. Your choice.

Is your Win7 UEFI? I doubt it.

It is, as I built this just a few years ago including (C:) being an SSD and an Ivy Bridge (3570K) CPU with obviously compatible motherboard.

Installed W10 on an extra SSD. Props to Brian for the tip to disconnect my C: drive first. I had/have two hiccups! After the installation I had to manually boot W7 from the motherboard (still do the first time if I've used W10), as W10 kind of takes over. Then it would run disk check. As opposed to fixing that in the registry I recovered an image just before installation and that has been rectified.
I added W10 to the boot menu with Easy BCD, however, that will never work because when W10 installed it renamed the (E:) drive (C:). W7 sees the drives as they originally were, however, when you view "Computer" in W10 they are reversed. I'm not sure I can do anything about that but when I searched Disk Management while in W10 nothing opened anyway.
So where things stand, if i want to play with W10, boot from the motherboard. Like wise, boot W7 from the motherboard the first time after having played with W10. No big deal either way really!

    ratchet,

    Nice work.

With independent OS the booted OS assigns the drive letters so when Win7 is booted the Win7 partition is C: drive. When Win10 is booted the Win10 partition is C: drive. There is no C: drive when the computer is turned off.

I suggest you hide each OS from the other. When in Win 10 go into Disk Management and remove the drive letter from the Win7 partition. When in Win 7 go into Disk Management and remove the drive letter from the Win10 partition. This only needs to be done once.

How many partitions are on the Win10 SSD? (as seen in Disk Management)

Just W10 is on the 60gb SSD and just W7 on the 120gb SSD.

Just so it's clear, Disk Management shows a single partition on each SSD?

Seems something odd to me with this swap. e.g. "If u bring your late model Jeep Cherokee back to the dealer by this Easter, he'll upgrade it to the new 2015 model absolutely free."

Could the NWO be at the door & Win 10 is tied in somehow? I know, i know...... "looks like we gotta a damn truther in house."
