Win Updates Port 137

    Does port 137 need to be open to receive Win updates ?

    I don't think so. I think you need port 80 (http) and maybe 443 (https). But I'm not sure about 443...

    I am 99.99% MS can update without port 137......just checking

    On several of my clients PCs, port 137 is specifically blocked with a firewall. They update just fine.

    Yes, ..........I have been seeing an inordinate amount of activity around 137 for about ten days now.........i also have had it blocked.
