win 2000, internet options

I have just installed spybot and spywareblaster. Both programs were exicuted several times and now I am having a problem accessing , TOOLS, ITERNET OPTIONS.
I am getting a restriction notice stating this action has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator. That would be me. I am the only user of this system. Any recomendations?

Welcome at Wilders.

Your best shot might be Spybot S&D, start Spybot S&D, click Immunize and remove the lower two checkmarks.

A similar setting can be found in SpywareBlaster, but that should have another effect.
Start SpywareBlaster, click Tools, at the Misc.- IE settings tab remove the checkmark before "Disable the IE homepage settings area in the Internet Explorer Bar"

THANKS FOR THE SOLUTION (WITH SPY BOT) THE HOME PAGE SETTINGS BEING GREYED OUT WERE REALLY BUGGING ME-THANKS --S.

lots of traffic on "about-blank hijacks some real some...
taking a lot of voluntere time heyu I'm a free helper too on the side and these have wasted a lot of my time
maybe there should be a stickie on this
I think Paul has something on the method better than this...

on sbs@d click mode at the top left>advanced and open
go to tools check all the boxes and they will open on the left bar
check i.e. tweeks this is where you can control these things

open another window
get to tools>internet options> programs and select "reset web settings"
now make sure the ones on that page are the way you want them
now go to the general tab
either bring up the page you want as home page and "select current" or type it in
DO NOT USE MSN.COM (or your vendors default)
DO NOT USE ABOUT-BLANK
select something else you can use and will notice if it is chagned,
something that loads fast
now go to spywareblaster > tools and check
" changes in ie settings home page area..."
OR
the one is sbs@d >tools>ie tweeks
If you use sbs@d you can also check the "lock i.e. control panel..."

REMEMBER IF YOU CAN CHANGE THESETTINGS FROM WITHIN IE ANYTHING CAN.

NOW if you are in ie and go to tools>internet options you will get an error message

BUMMER

Navigate to CONTROL PANEL> internet options and right click
make a shortcut It will be on the desktop
you can drag it to the taskbar if you wish

NOW IF YOU GET ABOUT-BLANK or MSN.com or your default
you could have a real problem check it out

however:
CWShredder and other fixit tools will reset your home page to either MSN.COM (or the default) or about-blank
In SAFE MODE you will get the default (usually MSN.COM or your vendor)

AD-AWARE will give you a couple of LOW prioriity "vulnerabilities" the're NOT
hilight them to dbl check- do not"fix" them
but do not set to IGNORE either in case the real thing comes along

Sometimes these settings get UNCHECKED, still trying to figure out why
