I searched the forum, website, knowledgebase. No where does it state anything about XP Home. All it says is that it is compatible with XP SP2 but I read that true image agent cannot be remotely installed on XP Home.

What about locally installing TI Agent on XP Home so I can do backups remotely from the Management console.

I have the latest version of TI Workstation v9.1

Ok so since there is no difinitive info anywhere I am able to confirm TI Agent WILL install on XP Home but I am unable to connect to it from an XP Pro computer running the Management Console. Does this mean that it simply will not work with XP Home?

    Hello mustardman,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Remote Workstation Disk Backup Software.

Acronis Remote Agent does work with Windows XP Home with service pack 2. Please see chapter 4.2 "Installing/updating Acronis components on a remote machine" of the respective User's Guide for details and instructions.

    Thank you.

It installs but I cannot connect to it. Says cannot log in presumably because it is NOT possible to disable simple file sharing on XP Home.

    Am I missing something?

    Hello mustardman,

We are sorry for the delayed response.

I'm afraid that it will not be possible to connect to the computer where Acronis True Image Agent installed if the operating system is Windows XP Home there, because Windows XP Home Edition-based computers always have Simple File Sharing enabled, which cannot be changed.

We are sorry, for misleading you with the previous reply.

    Thank you.
