Just for the matter of discussion Webroot has Prevx's database now and I don't know but they only have a partnership with Sophos why would they need Sophos now?

IMO some folks prefer a *conventional* AV program such as Sophos (non-cloud, PC-resident) instead of (or in addition to) a cloud-based AV program such as Prevx.

AND there might be some folks who will happily buy a combination of both (as 2 separate components in one package, perhaps). Cha-ching!

who knows, maybe Prevx is just what Webroot needs to gain its place back in the mainstream of "usable" products. I was, once a fan of theirs long ago and may shut doors, but never lock them.;)

We're already both benefiting each other in our central databases with research collaboration. Our long term plans are still being held quiet but needless to say, there will be substantial benefits to both our and Webroot's customers :)

Does that mean Webroot's virus definitions are now a part of Prevx's cloud? :D If that's the case, I am VERY glad because then the detection rates should be even higher now compared to a month ago.

I dont think ity is quite that simple. Q and A maybe but no way on implementation at this point.

True that it isn't quite that simple as to have it all done in a week, but you will be seeing a sizable boost on both the Webroot end and Prevx end :) Webroot have a substantial number of users and there is surprisingly little overlap so both products will be receiving a massive amount of value from the other's technology.
