Will my own vpn on a vps be faster than that of most vpn providers?

    Hi,

    I am currently using Astrill for my vpn needs. Just want to find out if i were to setup a vpn on my own vps host, will it be faster than that of most vpn providers?

    Yes but depending on your connection, more expensive. You also will buy the service so setting OpenVPN up on there you gain no privacy because you buy the service, low level anonymity.

    I agree and you would be connecting from your own ISP to log-in to your VPS anyway. And any hosting provider is going to keep logs. Period. You may have logs turned off on your own VPS dashboard, but that means nothing. The host is keeping them for their own benefit and protection from abuse.
