2 or 3 of THOSE bottles? And you don't even feel dizzy or drowsy? Man I gotta hand it over to ya, you're strong..my cough syrup contains a small bit of alcohol and I feel sleepy when I take two spoons of it!

:) Nope not yet, but any more rain and I may have to put it up on coffee cans. The golf course in back of us now has a raging river flowing down the middle of it however (talk about your water trap). Southern California is getting clobbered, thus far we have been lucky, there are other in this area however who have had major problems with mud slides and flooding.

    Thanks

So wildman, how many millimetres of rainfall have you guys had so far? We normally get 1500-2100mm during monsoon..

:D I don't know about that metric stuff, but we have broken the record set back in 1833, and according to the weather man have received 38 inches thus far. The season is not over till the end of June either.

    Thanks

Interesting tidbits from my part of the world.

The all-time United States record for rainfall in a 24-hour period was set in Texas in 1979. This broke the record set in 1921 in the flood described on the previous page. The current record holder is Alvin, Texas. Alvin doesn't have any dramatic topography to trigger precipitation. It just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The event was Tropical Storm Claudette. Not the Claudette that made landfall in July 2003, but the one that made landfall in July 1979. The storm moved slowly inland over southeast Texas, causing about $750M in property and crop damage. The highest rainfall total at an official site was a remarkable 40" in 24 hours, but a nearby unofficial site, confirmed by the National Weather Service, recorded 43" in 24 hours.

That's an impressive amount of rain no matter how you look at it. Normally you would have to put a garbage can under the storm gutter of a house to have any hope of filling it up during a rainstorm. But with Claudette the trash can could have been left out in the open and it still would have filled up.

Its cold here too, we use to get only about 20 degrees minimum but lately now we're getting 12.5 (on Feb normally it should be 22).

:D Nah, it's cool. We rent and the torrent is far enough away from us. I am lucky that I do not have to commute to work however, the freeways have been anything but fun. No big problems in our immediate area, however areas around us have not been as lucky. The forecast is rather dismal as this is forecast into the coming week. Also if I didn't know better, I'd think I was back in Lubbock Texas. we were under a tornado watch earlier today. Thanks for your concern, but we are doing fine.

    Thanks

:D I sure hope it don't go that long, I'd have to figure out just exactly what a cubit's size is. We are in our traditional rain season, and that normally can go through June, however it also does not normally rain that much in this area either.

    Thanks

:) The sun shines bright today, but more rain to be coming next week. The weathers needs to hold off for a while, the wildman need to get back to the tread mill (can't do that if not nice weather). I sure have noticed the difference having just laid off for these past four days.

    Thanks
    wildman

:) Another nice day today, the weather man indicates possibly more rain late Sunday night an early Monday morning however.

Got in a half hour on the tread mill, an boy am I feeling the effects of having laid off for almost a week. The place was rather crowed today, an I was not alone in having missed a few days.

    Thanks
