I tried for a day and a half to open ilders forums.
Every time I clicked on the link my browser would freeze and I could not get through.
I jumped through all the hoops but couldn't fix it.
Installed OA free and added the appropriate info to the hosts file and now I'm able to get here.
What happened? What caused this? I know from reading other sites that I'm not the only one.
    Curious.

Dunno the cause, but I had the same problem Thursday afternoon. Finally found a thread on dslreports.com about it, saying that a fix was to add Wilders' IPs to your hosts file, this way:

in Windows\system32\drivers\etc the "hosts" file (no filename extension on hosts, at least on my WinXP)

Server maintenance? Other than that, I have not had any problems connecting to the forum. I shudder to think that malware would prevent one from going to Wilder's even though there are some malware that will prevent a person from going to online scanners through the use of hosts file or registry entries. Just to be safe, I would suggest downloading Dr. Web's Cureit and running it.

    Thanks for your replies.
I think I'll just stay with 'ignorance is bliss'.
