Why Google’s Modular Smartphone Might Actually Succeed.

Don't get me wrong; it sounds cool from a geek standpoint, but I question how much demand there will be for something like this. For many people, phones are like fashion accessories, and they won't be interested in swapping out the CPU if the result is still going to look like an "old" phone. I suspect that most people (at least in the developed countries) won't do much with it besides replacing a damaged screen.

It should be nice though for companies that sell phones, as they could provide more options from the beginning. I just think the aftermarket customization will be limited.

 

However, it does give one the option of upgrading their smartphone screen or camera without buying a new phone!

Looks and sounds cool and i really look forward to it but to be honest, i do not really see this being a huge success.
