    Hey Blazey,

In case you have still that problem, you could donload the evaluation version of TaskInfo2003.
It has a 30 days evaluation time.

    http://www.iarsn.com/download.html

    More info:
    http://www.iarsn.com/taskinfo.html

You will see at that second page a screenshot of TaskInfo2003.
It can give you an idea of what process is eating up a large piece of RAM.

    I have the registred version.
I don't run it resident, only on-demand if I like to do so.
You could let it run for -let's say- an half hour and see what process is so hungry.

It even has an option to free up some RAM. I sometimes (not very much) use its tool "Free RAM Slow Pass".
In another thread we talked about some utilities to free up RAM. In most cases the problem is in Windows, depending on your version of Windows. For example Windows 98 is not so good in "Memory-management".
I have to leave the details of the subject more in general to the experts in this respect.
But you could try TaskInfo2003 to get an idea where the problem is.
