I pick Brazil. Ronaldo's goofy new haircut will prove unstoppable.

This poll is RIDICULOUSLY BIASED. Where's the allowance for miracles, bribery, mass hallucination and the good 'ol American ability to rewrite history? Oh, man, WHY couldn't you have included England in the choices?

Damn you, Uni - I'm going to smite you with an applaud!

Had I made the poll a week ago England and the US would still be options (along with Turkey and Korea). But alas, they are not.

You can start a new poll entitled: "who will win the NEXT World Cup in 2006?!?"

    PS. back-atcha with the applaus!

PPS I heard a rumor that Ranaldo will never play in the Turkish league again, and Ravaldo will never play in England. They have single-handedly killed soccer/football in those countries. lol jk

I voted for Germany (which as everyone knows is the palindromic anagram of England).

    LOL! :D

I voted for Brazil; you have to prefer Brazilian panache over German plodding...

A week ago I predicted Germany winning the cup - and I'll stick to that. Sorry to say, but apart from some brilliant forwards, Brazil hasn't the quality and isn't a team neither. Where have the good times go? Revellino, Jairzinho, Socrates and many more, playing real "samba" soccer..

Germany: hard working team, best goalkeeper around. If the don't make it, it's because the lack of Ballack.

    regards.

:D Yes, I voted. I used to play rugger, some soccer too. I've learned that when I know the outcome of a match, I must keep it secret. If I tell, my team loses! ;)

;) Hi Paul! Do you know which way I voted? This superstition also applies to elections. I vote and I don't say before who I voted for. Sure, they "know" my vote but it's all batch processing. Eh? No worries! :D

I said the winner of Brazil and England would win and concurrently mentioned Germany as a contender. Nice call sir. Thank you sir.

Look back on the Semis and which of the four teams had opportunity after opportunity to score? Soccer is the single most played sport in the world second only to beach blanket bingo er what ya'll call it up there in the land locked part of Canada, anyway so when the games are 1-0 the team with more opportunities will win regardless of the goalie. Do not bet against the active and visually superior flow. Can you say Braziil? Money.

Although Brazil has not looked like the a welded unit they are gelling at the right time. The only reason the German's are in the finals is 1 header against the US who outplayed them overall. They are going backwards and won't score a goal against Brazil. Emotion is a word the Brazilians know well whereas I just don't see it in the Germans or not the same type of emotion if you will.

    Final score
    Brazil 1
    Germany 0.

    Shots on goal:
    Brazil 14
    Germany 6

    History favours Brazil

Seoul (dpa) – If statistics are anything to go by, then the odds will be stacked against Germany in Sunday’s FIFA World Cup™Final: the Mannschaft’s record against Brazil is worse than against any other national outfit.
Since 1963, the German team has won just three out of 17 meetings between the two sides. Four matches were drawn, whilst Brazil have won the remaining 10 and have a clear goal advantage of 31:18. However, Sunday’s showdown in Yokohama will mark the first-ever meeting in the FIFA World Cup between the world’s two most successful nations.

As a German I would like to see the German team win but I vote for Brazil as I think they are the better team.

For obvious reasons I'll lock voting now. Looking at the votes, the match will end in a draw after 90 minutes...

Looking forward to comments when all's done and over with ;)

    regards,

    paul
