I will be buying either Avira or Prevx?

Just one, not both. Probably use Boclean as free motion detector!

    Which one would you buy?

Antivir uses heuristics for zero-day, Prevx uses CIPS - same result?

Low impact on system performance is important to me, as well as stability/reliability.

I am the family PC support and hate hearing "Dad, there's a problem with the PC!". Low annoyance factor for kids means peace and quiet for me.

If it was me,I'd take Avira of the two choices.

I tried Prevx1 last year and wasn't crazy about it.
The new version may be better, but there are also similar programs for free.

Have you seen some of the threads here and in Castle Cops Forums about the latest Prevx 2 update problems?

I would have to say Avira too, based on my own experience. Prevx gave me some issues with browser slowdowns that I couldn't live with. Prevx sounds like a nice idea, but it still appears to have some problems...
