Please choose the search engine you use the most often. Some of the choices are single engine while others are multi-engine. If there is a search engine you use which is not listed please choose "other" and list your favored engine in the comments. Also, when you vote for your normal search engine please make a post as to why you favor that particular one over other search engines available.

    Thanks

    No poll.

    I use https://encrypted.google.com/ for searches.

I'm considering switching to DuckDuckGo though I just want to research a bit more on DDG and how it works.

Re-posting this to be a bit more complete...

Usually Google SSL, sometimes DuckDuckGo (which is enhanced by Bing).

And several other "specific" search engines like About.com.

I would have thought there would be a lot more Ixquick and DDG users. With Ixquick I should have included Startpage / StartingPage. Google has more votes so far than all the other options combined.

    Google -exclusively.

I'm sure there are other good ones but this seems to work fine for me.

Bing. Since Bing and Yahoo! have the same results and Bing's homepage is less annoying. Google has more results but I don't feel some of those results should be online to begin with.

The only side down of Bing is lack of SSL. :(

I wonder why no SSL. Google said that when they implemented SSL there was virtually no performance hit - it accounted for something like 1% of their total load.

I usually have DDG (SSL) set as my default browser (an about:config job in Firefox!) with Start Page as my homepage (depending on browser). I am experimenting with Qrobe.it at the moment.
