Many good programs are no longer developed or have been taken over by other companies. Which program do you miss the most? If you can think of a program that is not listed please post it. Some of the older versions can still be found across the internet.

I can't say I miss it since I'm still using it, but from a perspective of it no longer being developed, I'd say SSM is the one I miss most. I very much enjoyed beta testing SSM. Its developers, Vitali and previously Max Burmistrov were great people to work with and were extremely responsive to problems and suggestions.

The poll didn't allow for multiple choices, but if it did I'd like to see Kerio, the 2X versions or another like it developed again. I love to see a good rule based firewall without all of the extras bundled to it again.

The original non-comodo Boclean. It kept me out of trouble more than once and Kevin did a good job supporting it.

Do you mean ThreatFire? Hm ... LinkScanner Lite is now available as AVG LinkScanner and Ewido is a part of AVG :)

Still using the old SSM (free), but if it was still alive it would be great (even greater).

    FD-ISR :'(
Leapfrog has left a huge hole and there is nothing available to do what FDISR did.
Some with similar functions but nothing like the original.

No contest...Tiny Firewall, a product that was way ahead of its time. Too bad CA bought it effectively dismantled it or they turned it into some dummied down facsimile :(

While not a program, but a feature of Windows....
Back in the Win9X days, restoring a registry was quick with "scanreg /restore"
So much quicker than the bloated restore since xp.

For security software I liked having all the tools in one place with TDS and configuring Tiny. So many more though.

Storagecraft ShadowUser Pro (I'm still using it on one machine). One of the first and complete light virtualizers (the only one which could continue shadow sessions across reboots).

They never upgraded it to work with Vista, and I think they've just stopped selling it altogether even for XP.

Stop selling a while ago now and hence no update. I used ShadowUser on XP and then bought ShadowServer for Advanced Server and 2003 which was quite expensive since it was basically no different to User.
ShadowStor was the name back then I remember and they also did a ShadowSurfer but I never used it.

Ah good lite virtualization, the first I used...I'd break User out tomorrow if it was updated.

AtGuard and AtGuard and AtGuard ..... !!!!!

And IEClean and IEClean and IEClean ...... !!!!!
    (still using it); and NSClean

And BOClean (of course not Comodo) :'(
and TDS-3, WormGuard (still using WG), and other DCS programs :'(
and SnagIt 6 (still using it; like it more than the newer versions which I have too)
and PowerDesk Pro before newer owners got their hands on it
and NISFileCheck and FileChangeAlarm (no more being upgraded; still using NFC)
and ADinf 32 Pro (I fear that it will be no more being upgraded; still using it)
    and, well, I stop .....

Ah SafeSpace! Loved it. Some great names on this list I'd forgotten about although I have to agree with Longboard about FD-ISR. In my opinion the most innovative and brilliant piece of software I've ever used.
