    I don't have any friends.

Skype, what privacy issues exactly? It's the same with every other program. Nothing to fret about.

Who said anything about just friends! I use them to keep in touch with friends and family! Beats having to register to that damn facebook!

Especially useful when they are spread over the world. Don't tell me you don't have family! :D

Xfire - mainly because of it's gaming futures. They however added support for Yahoo, Windows Live Messenger, AOL and Twitter lately with plans to add more, so i think I'll stick with it and just wait for Jabber/XMPP support ;)

BTW, lubieplacki: WTW (it's Polish communicator) is to young right now, maybe when they hit 1.0 :)

    this :D

I clicked on Trillian..but I don't like the bloat with recent versions, was looking at Pidgin and Digsby and Miranda.
Pidgin...stores your user/pass on a plain text file in its directory..seems easy to exploit.
Digsby stores your info on their servers...so potential issue there, yet ease of using it on other computers...all your stuff automatically comes to you.
Haven't read much about Miranda yet.

Barthez, you have right. But this comunicator develops very good, lots of updates, new features. The number is small but is much better than very popular in Poland Gadu-Gadu or AQQ. Simple theme without stupid features like emoticons, souds etc. Wery simple and dont charge computer too much. And of course WTW dont have any ads. Simple and good comunicator for me, and not only for me.

I just moved from Digsby back to GTalk, third time, it is just so simple, and I can chat with people just by login to gmail, I do not need any extra functions from IM.
