Which exe files have to run

    If I look into taskmanager, I can normally see Nodkrn.exe and Nodkui.exe running as a process.
    Could someone please verify that
    • krn.exe is the realtime protection
    • kui.exe is the control center normally shown as an icon int he taskbar
    • nod32.exe would show up if an on-demand scan is performed

    Given my problems on a separate pc see this other thread I am wondering whether I can ignore the missing icon problem as long as I have verified that the nod32krn.exe is showing up as a running process, thus protecting my pc?

    That's what I got ;) (nod32.exe only shows up when running on-demand).

    Yes, NOD32KRN.EXE protects your computer from viruses and NOD32KUI is control center. But if NOD32KUI is not running you will be not informed about found infiltration...
