KAV Personal Pro 5, because in my experience it offers the best protection - but I will be changing to a different AV if KAV 6 continues to knock out my connection.

Version 5 and 6 both seem to run pretty light,at least on my machine. I imagine it is the same on most comps.

well KAV 6 is only in alpha/beta testing right now, have u tried reporting the problem? maybe its a known bug. neways many people use kav 4.5 even tho 5 is available so it wouldnt be so bad if u stayed with 5 for a while

Did you disable port 80 in the network settings of Kav 2006 beta, it's a known bug on the todo list already, you could also try to disable the webmodule until it's fixed. :)

On my home network, each PC runs a different brand of AV and personal firewall.

    Just in case :)

I tried disabling everything but the file monitor.. I have the same problem with KAV Personal 5, which is troubling.

Avast! on the PC and I'll use it on the laptop too as soon as the AV installed when I bought it runs out. I'm impressed with avast!'s regular, rapid updates, easy set up and their helpful support forum where problems are quickly solved.

Does that count as 2 votes?

    McAfee.

I've tried others (Norton, Trend Micro, AVG, AntiVir, etc.), but I've always found McAfee to be the most reliable and compatible with my systems. I guess that makes McAfee my (current) AV of choice ;)

    Nod32, Kaspersky 2006 Beta and Sophos ...

And i have here about 30 + cdroms with Norton Antivirus 2005 90 days trial
    etc. that will never use.

This i get if i order a computer for my customers, but i don't dare to install it on their pc. So i recommend them to use the above.

Otherwise i'll get too much work

    :D

:D Since I prefer Good & FREE products, had to decide between Avast,
AVG & AntiVir to replace my Norton .

I use Avast! on my PC and have Bitdefender on my sons PC. Bitdefender has more detection but IMO Avast! is more versatile and covers anything I come across.
