Good responses... It seems most of us have our own way in dealing with spyware in reguards to the software we use.

It's On-Demand only, and does not conflict with regular antivirus scanners (maybe if you try to scan with both at the same time).

I tried Safe'N'Sec a while back and it made my windows take a long time to start druing the weclome screen. Also had problems with the menu delay in the start menu freezing my screen. It was Safe"N'Sec that was conflicting and I had to remove it. But for now, Online Armor, RegDefend, ProcessGuard, and Kav Pro 5 do the job fine plus all the hardening I have done.

I also have Pest Patrol 5 installed for on-demand(since I got a free 1 yr license).

I have been really impressed by KAV 2006 beta. This version is a bit better on resources than the former KAV 5.0.390. The proacive plugin is a plus in my books, though for most of us who use PG and RD already, who knows what direction we'll take when the final KAV 2006 comes out. I haven't had any bad spyware pass the defense of KAV since its one of the best for adware, spyware, riskware, etc.

I only want an Anti-Spyware for on-demand because I just don't need to use on on-access...
I have already a good defense, so I can avoid that resources...

Besides, all the "bests" AS are resources hog, even for on-demand only...

About CounterSpy or SpywareDoctor, they seems to have a similar detection and features, so I think that you should try them and see what you like more... :)

Ad-Aware Plus. I also use Pest Patrol 5 (the free offer) as an OD. I was about to scrap my AS all together about 2 months ago as in the last few years I have never really found anything. Then my daughters discovered the computer. A few things have turned up. Kids, got to love them. Security Apps...got to love them even more LOL.

MS Anti-Spyware is the main one, although I also have Ewido 3.5 running, and NOD32 offers some spyware functionality as well.

My Machine: OutPost Anti-Spyware, BoClean (I consider this to be a realtime scanner for the worst offenders in the spyware area, some may disagree).

    Family Machine: Just BoClean.

"Active" to me means realtime as opposed to a periodic manual scanner just to make sure of our meanings.
