    Yo, Pete

Good to see ya again. Great to know that some familiar forum regulars still always turn up again just like myself after an extended absence ;)

Enjoy the tropical SUN again! I'm still in the active spin zone region and it's getting fairly dicey every year if you read the weather disaster news lately o_O

    Los Angeles here... March, 2012

    Hello everyone!

Glad to find this group and see that others are also concerned about the creepy-crawly encroachment on our privacy.

I know 99.5% of it, (right now) is "benign" and supposedly helps "us" by feeding us ads which we'd be most interested in.. but freedom is golden and I know that all citizens, no matter in which country, have to fight to keep it, and in some cases the fight is still just to get a first taste of it.

It's the silent "slippy-slide" that everyone needs to be vigilant about.

Sadly, the basic nature of mankind hasn't changed one iota since dictators ran amok in formerly free countries like Germany and Italy only a few decades ago. My United States lived through the "McCarthy Era" only yesterday. In the 1970's, when I was in my twenties, everyone here was up in arms about wire-tapping and every other kind of citizens' rights.

It frightens me that now, in the second decade of the 21st century, so many people in the earth's most "civilized" or "top-economy" countries have fallen asleep.. or have been gently lulled to sleep by trifles like endless digital toys for entertainment, social networking, etc... or are young enough that such pacifiers have literally been plugged into the offices since birth... and simply won't recognize what's been stolen from them until the vault has been completely emptied and the thieves have long gone.
Ah, but I'm preaching to the choir here..

If anyone else is a Mac user, please help me find anything that might be specific to that species..

At the present, I'm specifically concerned about what Adobe Flash forces the user to allow with 3rd party evolvement..

I'm a newbie at this. I'm grateful for anyone's help and will be glad to share what I learn as well...

I am pleased to find this forum. I have disparately needed a forum to talk and hear about how to keep my machine working right.

I'm from the "Switzerland" of America, beautiful Juneau, Alaska.
