I am new to Nod32 and just downloaded Nod32 2.5 beta.

When I looked into Information in NOD32 System Tools, it didn't show

when it would expire. Is Nod32 beta completely free or it is just a trial? :)

If it is a trial, when will it expire?

It's free until ESET decides to cancel this beta (they do this by normal update).
This will probably happen when Final version is out.

Can I keep it beta as long as I want?

How do I prevent it from expiration or stop it from upgrading to final version?

you don't when the final comes out the beta key will quit working and you won't be able to update. at least that is the way the other companys do it.

    Dear Friends,

even in registered versions, NOD32 do not have a feature to show the expiration date or your registration information.... NOD32 has these features for `RAS' & `XMON' and these are not for home users.

Home NOD32 versions will never expire because they dont have registration key files, the problem you will have after expiration is you cannot update your anti-virus database through the internet...

I saw a feature request in the appropriate thread that NOD32 displays username expiry information as well. I'd back that and Irnux's request up.

    Regards,
    SA

A question sort of in the same vein as the OP...how often does NOD32 offer betas? Meaning, when they update the current beta (and thus discontinue offering virus database updates for the beta), how long will it be before another beta's available?

And yes, I am a freeloader...but, I am liking NOD32 and am considering a purchase.

I'm exactly with you..impressed with it but unsure about buying.... yet. Also, unable to get any clue on timing despite phoning. The beta version works quietly and well in the meantime, so I won't rock the boat.

Why spend all that money on a computer then not spend a few pounds/dollars on Anti virus.
Next to a firewall, Antivirus is the most important purchase you should make for your computer
