    Anyone know does it work well on VIA 8237 before I consider buying?

    No, it does not work on Via 8237 well at all. It takes like 7 times longer than what it is supposed to.

    Ah, that would explain it!

    I am just right now running a test and TI 8.0 build 786 is reporting that it will take 2 hours to create an image of my SATA disk to external USB drive. The size of the image is only 3GB. This looks awfully slow to me!!!

    My setup is:
    Asus A8V Deluxe mainboard BIOS 1007
    WD raptor 74GB SATA150 drive on VIA chipset.

    Hope this is solved soon.
