When (if ever) will DEFENSE WALL go 64bit?

    What are the benefits of 128 bit?
    Don't tell me we are going in a bit race in the OS'es :eek:

    Pros of 128 over 32/64bit:
    Larger addressable space (you can now move large files in a single cycle)
    Double the registers, which leads to a few things including...
    improved security, randomization in general (important for something like ASLR), and a large performance increase.

    Cons of 128bit:
    You need new hardware to support it
    No driver support etc

    And this is true. I'm going DW to protect ATMs and payment terminals. Unfortunately, majority of end users are not ready to pay for uncompromising protection. They are, in fact, not really ready to install it for free. :D So, people who are loosing big money with their current security setup, are ready to change something. And yes, it's purely about business.

    128 bit? Have never heard of it from MS employees. :D

    Some are pushing Trusteer Rapport at their customers, so maybe yes.

    Some of them. Because they are loosing money (real money!) with software skimmers.
