I'm not clear on when the license file needs to added. I'm talking about Business Edition here and license file (.lic), not the username/password for the Internet update. It seems like ESET functions just fine on the PCs without the license. It updates from the ERAC just as it should. So is this needed at any time other than on the ERAC?
    Thank you.

You only have to import the license in ERA so you can manage all the clients you own a license for.

Updating has nothing to do with the .lic file.

yep - the license file activates the administrating functions in eset programs.
on eras AFAIK it extends the maximum of 2 clients to the numbers of bought clients.
but if you use eras you dont really need use it on a client/business version,
you can all do it with the era console.
