Bad thing, I heard that Core2Duo processor are good overclockers contrary to AM2+ processor. My stock speed is 2,6 and I can only reach 2,7 stable (Prime95 running for 12 hours without errors) with 1,35v considering processor default voltage is 1,3v. Fortunately my processor is OK with currently games and my motherboard is compatible with new AM3 processors that apparently are good at OC.

I know i'm dragging up a slightly old thread here, but since i saw your SSD Disk scores... Well to put it bluntly i want one. :argh:

My CPU/RAM are both 7.2 and the disk at 5.9 is letting things down.

Do you happen to know if i can mirror my current 7,200 drive, put it on the SSD and i'm good to go.. Or would this be major surgery with a Windows reinstall?

ive noticed a lot of people get a 5.9 on the Hard drive score, seems to be a pretty universal thing in typical hard drives.

5.9 is the highest unless you have a ssd drive.

    yep, very true indeed.

personally, my games run fine on a standard HD so i see no need to be exploited out of my money.

the price-per-gb storage of an SSD is ridiculous, and personally - im waiting for a decrease in price before making any upgrade to that particular component.

it is something ive been keeping my eye on for over 6 months now, and still i wait. :)

but, while all games run fine at vsync on maximum settings, im not really too fussed about what my WEI score says for standard HD drives. :)

Do you have an official reference (URL) for that?

its a known fact, no 7200rpm HD will go above 5.9, even the 10,000rpm raptors only give 5.9 if memory serves me correctly, even kingston's cheap SSD's only give 5.9 too, so i struggle to see the point of those with the added cost-per-GB.

an intel 25x or whatever its called will give around 7.5, but at £200 for just 80gb or so, its definatly an 'investment' lol :doubt:

lol, my 7200rpm hd was my highest score but overall scored about a 2.9. Contrary to the low scoring, Win 7 for me is mucho faster than XP. Anywho, I got tired of looking at the low score, edited the file with all 7's. Now mine shows an overall of 7.
