    1. The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie.
The scene in the classroom where shes showing 'her girls' slides of Florence after the encounter with the Art Master is extremely moving and touching. The film itself is brilliantly constructed and acted.

    2. Kathy Come Home. Captures perfectly the moral atmosphere of the 60's.

    3. The Rebel (Tony Hancock). Accidently shows you the real Tony Hancock, and the tragedy of his comic genius.

    4. Dune. Although missing out huge chunks of plot from the book, it manages to summarise it into an epic.

    5. Metropolis (1925). A silent film, and the final scene wher ethe city is flooded is awesome for 1925, especially when you realise the people drowning ARENT acting, they really ARE drowning.....

    6. A Clockwork Orange. Brilliant parable of the follys of thought control.

    7. Brief Encounter (Celia Johnson and Trevor Howard). Captures the agony of being english middle class in the 1940's perfectly.

    8. Target for Tonight (1942) classic example of wartime moral booster, covering the real truth of how bad the RAF REALLY was at its job at the time (before Bomber Harris was in command)

    9. Eraserhead - bizzare 1930's black and white film immediately banned until 1998 because its so disturbing, very Salvador Dali

U can add me to that list. Hysterical. :D

Another film i'd like to mention here is Field of Dreams.

One of my favourite movies of the modern era.

I love the concept of it, with a great preformance by Kevin Costner and excellent support with James Earl Jones.

I've probably seen this film 100 times and it still mesmerizes me everytime. :)
