    Hey Chris

    How you doin man?

One of out Asian members should be able to tell you what it translates to.

Do I get three guesses? Did you go to view an Asian site and was asked to install an object for easy reading?

    I doing good thanks

It would be fun to see how it translates if you copy and pasted it here.
I thought I found out one time I had to enable cryllic for my keyboard to type Russian LOL

The site offers two types translation. Chinese simp to English or another
and Chinese Trad to another language.

I've no idea what it is but I've seen it on 3 new Acers. I'm not sure whether it appeared before or after the installation of MS Office but it was definitely either already there or installed by Office.

Hi, folks: There are Chinese characters all right, but have no meanings/substances. I will be surprised that anyone or any tool can translate them correctly. And you say it is from Acer's recovery CD ? Can you adjust your PC to read Simplified or Traditional Chinese, I think either way you are able to read them correctly. BTW, is your recovery cd clean of any infections? just curious ? Last time I got Killdisk trojans, those funny characters (Chinese) did show up after reboot. Good luck.
